Growing up in Mississippi's literary stomping grounds, Baxter Knowlton developed an insightful eye for character. His thick, vibrant brush strokes reveal a life's worth of stories in each of his stoically candid portraits. His subjects have included William Faulkner, Barry Hannah, Shelby Foote, Walker Percy, and Flannery O'Connor, as well as countless endearingly everyday people.
