Valery Kosorukov
Often referred to as the "Russian Degas," Valery Kosorukov is best known for his captivating impressionist depictions of the Bolshoi Ballet – which have famously adorned the lobby of the Bolshoi Theater itself. Kosorukov captures light and colors with a combination of precise and abstract brush strokes, as if his subjects existed inside a jewel. A member of the Union of Artists of Russia and professor at the Moscow State Surikov Fine Arts Institute, Kosorukov is also an honored citizen of New Orleans.
