Charlie Buckley
About the Artist
After completing his BFA at Ole Miss and MFA at Miami University, Buckley taught drawing and painting at Miami, Mississippi State, and the University of Mississippi. Since 2011 he has been working exclusively as a painter.
Charlie's work was selected for the Bicentennial exhibition at the Mississippi Museum of Art, Mississippi, Land of Plenty, Pain, and Promise, and he participated in the 2019 Mississippi Invitational at the MMA. A two-time fellow in Visual Arts from the Mississippi Arts Commission, Charlie has also been awarded the Visual Arts award from the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters.
His work is in the collections of the Walton Family Foundation, Children’s of Mississippi, Baptist Memorial Hospital, CREATE Foundation, The Graduate, the Community Development Foundation, First commercial Bank, Arkansas Children's Hospital, The University of Mississippi, and the City of Gulfport. He created the centennial celebration painting for the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art.
Charlie lives in Oxford with his family and animals.
